IGAR continues to work towards an increased level of awareness of our German culture and language. This year, we plan to sponsor, in cooperation with other German-American organizations, stipends and scholarships to students of German at the high school level nationwide.
To that effect, we would like to enlist your cooperation by informing the IGAR office of the German Language Department of your choice. This may be a school you attended, or your children/grandchildren attend now.
IGAR will subsequently inform the respective German teachers of the scholarships. We want to help all German-Americans to have pride in their heritage and to use that pride in their citizenship to the United States of America, as our forbearers have done for generations. Nobody can live without pride, neither as an individual, nor as a nation. IGAR will support our political system and will keep in contact with our political representatives to express our views and concerns that should be brought to their attention.
We want to establish Liaison Committees in every state of the Union, and need to hear from you regarding this matter as well.
Please let us know by mail or e-mail about your availability to serve on such committees. Keep in mind: Don't expect "THEM" to do the work for you. "YOU" are needed!
